It’s hard to say why Brighton's Damn Dirty Humans remain unsigned. Pushing electro-pop to a new level, they manage the feat of not only sounding like they’re straight off the Skins soundtrack, but also that they have miraculously appeared straight out of the eighties, and Blondie are looking jealous. It truly is a mystery, as Damn Dirty Humans are, as they so rightly claim, damn dirty, and damn good.

Think a more electro, space-infused The Gossip, with a voice not too dissimilar from, bizarrely, Madonna, circa 1987, and some infectious bass that is far from hard to dance to. ‘Superstar’ is the stronger track, both mucky and with an innocent kick, but ‘The Dancehall’ demonstrates an intelligent knack for lyrics and shows off lead singer Kimberley’s vocals to perfection. If you are lucky enough to live in Brighton, catch them whilst you can.
